Commonwealth Games Link
The children In P6 & P7 are taking part in a Commonwealth Games Project. This project links our school with Bellbridge Primary School in Melbourne, Australia.
The project is based on this years Commonwealth Games which take place 'Down Under' and both schools' local areas.
Our project began when we had a visit from former pupil Jason Hastie. Jason is representing Scotland in Boxing at the Commonwealth Games.
He took part in an interview which we recorded. This can be heard on the website! It is our first Podcast!
Jason then met all the children in an Assembly and then visited the P6 & P7 children. He showed us his boxing vests, shorts, gloves and some of his medals.It was a great day for the school.
He gave us a Gilmerton Boxing Club vest and a t-shirt from the Canadian boxing tournament where he was awarded 'Best Boxer'.
Jason hopes to meet up with some children from Bellbridge when he's in Melbourne.We hope he comes back for another visit to tell us about his Commonwealth Games experience.
