Into The Community
Educational visits provide pupils with experiences not available in school. These excursions are carefully thought out and planned to ensure that pupils gain knowkedge and understanding related to themes studied in class.
Museums, Botanic Gardens, art galleries, theatres, Edinburgh Zoo, churches and a mosque are a few of the sites children have visited.
As with all visits, written permission from parents/carers is required before any child can participate in the excursion.
Outdoor Education:
Each year pupils have the opportunity to develop physical skills through training at local facilities.
Swimming @ the Commonwealth Pool has been provided for Primaries 6 & 7.
Skiing @ Midlothian Ski Centre has been provided for Primary 4.

Each year Primary 7 children visit Benmore Outdoor Education Centre for a week's programme of activities such as canoeing, gorge walking, archery and abseiling.
There is a visual presentation for parents early in the session to provide information and answer any questions.
A variety of activities is offered after school hours. Football, Handball and Voice Choir are popular with the children.
Out of School Provision:
After school care is provided in the Infant Building by Childcare Connections. Children are collected from their classrooms and are carefully supervised as they participate in a variety of activities.
